Nations

The five major powers of Tros

Surkistan (Red)

Disgusted by the weakness of the Royal Court whom he served, the nation's most popular military commander, Reza Shah, deposed his decadent King and immediately swept aside the court's corrupt courtesans who might block his militaristic aims.  With the navies rebuilt, he anticipated a long and arduous restocking of his small, though effective, armies en route to declaring independence from the Trossian Empire.  The death of Mollisius the Handsome caught the continent by surprise, but Reza Shah has a knack for turning surprises into opportunities.  The empty throne beckons, and a whole new sea of possibilities has opened.
Guarded by the southern mountains, the Red Nation faces three potentially hostile powers, all of which must contend with narrow paths into the heartland.  Although one of the smaller kingdoms, what the Red Nation lacks in land, it makes up for in population, controlling an initial five towns compared the other major powers' four.

Texiana (Blue)

Set along the western Trossian Coast, this Kingdom is a study in contrasts.  Big cities, and wide open ranch lands vie for the hearts of the D'Rangian youth.  Protected to the east by a high mountain chain, the question of how their monarch will take advantage of the confusion left by the death of the Emperor remains.

Will they seize back control of the Anaktavuk Pass, attempt to secure Gwareth Hill to the south as a launching point for incursions into the southern plains, or even march north to expand their holdings into the frozen wastes?

Poluania (Yellow)

Marching to war under gray and yellow banners, the men of the realm of King Mindaugas know full well that they have the best claim to the Imperial Throne.  It is a claim that they intend to pursue through every means at their disposal, and as a crossroads of the continent with well guarded and narrow borders, they are well positioned to enforce.

Thier banners are emblazoned with the gray wolves that roam the high valleys of the Mindaugans.

Stretched across nearly the entire north coast of Tros, the lands of King Fyodr are as stark and harsh as the men who call them home. Perhaps the most significant factor in the fracturing of the Trossian Empire is the sudden death of the King in the North, a man widely considered the heir apparent.  His death mere days before the death of Emperor Mollisius threw the entire empire into turmoil, as that paved the way for his eldest son, Fyodr the Mad, to take the throne - a martially gifted prince little trusted by the rest of the Kings.  Hence the nickname, which Fyodr now wears as a badge of honor.

Ursa Major (Gray)

King Joe rules the wide open and wind swept plains of the high and broad central valley of Tros.  It is a large kingdom, and her people fractious, barely held together by the strong hand of its towering monarch.  It is also the sole kingdom without access to a port of her own, a weakness that King Joe will certainly remedy.  With decades of experience wrangling recalcitrant rulers and bending them to his will, the King of this land understands that only he has the force of will to keep the Trossian Empire stitched together and strong enough to ward off predations from outside forces.
